* Trey did several signals right before the "blap-boom-blipity-boom" part
of
Wilson. The audience was more "educated" at this show than the night
before.
I could even hear LOUD "Doh"'s and random notes. People around us looked
so
lost I thought they were gonna cry when everybody else fell down. That's
sorta
the point of the whole thing I guess.
** Big ball jam. Kinda short cause the balls kept making their way back
to
the stage.

This was a HOT show. Everybody was definitly on. Trey's solos
during
Possum, Tweezer and Stash were particularly hot. During "I Sleep
Lengthwise"
Henrietta said that this was definitley the best crowd, then he taught his
new
song. I was psyched to hear all the Gamehenge stuff, especially Tiela.
Special thanks to Hadley for requesting it after the show the night
before! I
finally saw Divided Sky and YEM again. It's been over a year since I've
seen
those two. Mound was great, too. I love how Mike plays with the word
order in
that song. This was definitly a hot show, and it left me wanting to go
the the
next night in Cincinatti; but I have way too much work to do I think.
We'll
see. It was also great to see half of my evening seminar there. We were
all a
little worried until we heard class had been cancelled anyway.
        I could definitly devote a good amount of time to following Phish;
but
I have way too much work to do (I'm not about to drop out of school to
follow
any band around, no matter how damn good they are). If only I could win
that
10 million dollars from Ed Mcmahon I'd get them to play wherever I wanted
and
would have anybody who wanted to show up (sounds just like Amy's farm).
Oh
well, gotta go. I got some serious sleep to catch up on after last nights
rockin' show.

P.S. If you go to a show, definitly stop by the merchandise table and
talk to
Amy. She's super nice and a lot of fun to talk to. Buy something from
her
(even if t-shirt prices did go up).

Well...my ears are still trying to recover from an amazing show
at the Newport!!!!! I forgot to write down the set list but I'll try to
remember as much as I can.
The show sold out the afternoon before the gig. And I forgot how
many people the Newport can pack in! Inspite of everyone being crammed in
a small venue together, it was a very cool crowd. Everyone was there to
see
Phish perform, and was not there because it was the "thing to do". It was
really cool..Around 8:00pm, The Newport was filled and everyone was
staring
at the stage, looking like little children on a Christmas morning. I have
never felt so much high energy in a long time!! Finally, the band came on
around 8:30 and everyone was loosing their minds, but at the same time,
everyone was respecting the people around them!!! It was a great crowd!!
Highlights!! Suzie Greenberg was the opener, and as always, a
smokin' song. Divided Sky never ended!!! Stash made everyone freak out!!
Fast Enough For You was very nice. And of course...they closed the first
set with You Enjoy Myself (HOT,HOT,HOT)!!!
They opened set II with WILSON!!!! After the last jam of Wilson
(before Trey screams 'BLAT,BOOM..etc) the band was playing a few language
riffs (fall down, Simpsons, random note, 'aw fuck!!') but I saw about 10
people participate in those. Tweezer was incredible. During the song,
the beach balls were over the crowd creating a weird sound from the band.
TELA(one of my favorites) was very nice to hear live. They closed set II
with Runaway Jim and had the smoke machines going. Encores were Golgi and
Rocky Top!!! Woops!! Almost forgot. Fishman came out and sang his new
song about "when your gone, I sleep diagnol in my bed". He sang it
without
the rest of the band, and then had the entire crowd sing it. It was
great.
In general, I had an excellent time!! And I hope Phish comes to
the
Newport again!! I think they had a pretty good time there too :-)
See ya all in Cincinatti!!! --->hadley<---

P.S. It was nice meeting some of the netters again! Eventhough the net
gathering at Insomnia never got going
P.S.S. Personal to Cale @ Oberlin. I still have your Orpheum tape!!
post
me a message when you get a chance!!
