I posted the set last night at 4:00 a.m., and was in no condition to type
any more, so I'm waiting until now.

Widespread Panic did a great opening set, and the crowd really got into
it. Then Phish came on for one of the best live sets I've ever heard.
Possum had everyone jamming along with the band. During Bouncing, there
were about 500 heads bobbing up and down, you couldn't see anything. Fee
was good to hear, considering that it was their first "hit," and they
haven't been playing it muchlately. Then Trey did a hilarious, amended
version of part of the Gamehenge narration, and then two songs, Colonel
Forbin's Ascent and Famous Mockingbird. Run Like an Antelope right before
break was perfect.

Opening the second set with Sanity, a lot of people got into it, but I
thought it was an odd choice to open a set with. It sounded like
something you'd hear while the credits are rolling after "Beauty and the
Beast." Llama and Lizards led into a great Mike's Groove. During the
trampoline bouncing, Gordon was jumping so high, he was almost hitting
his head on the ceiling (literally). It slowed down a little after that.
Horn was new for almost everyone there, and Terrapin is just so un-Phish
like that it was hard to get into. But they finished off with an
incredibly Suzie Greenberg. Sleeping Monkey at the encore was also new to
most people.

After the show, I talked to Mike Gordon for about 15 minutes. He said
that Phish is definitely going to Europe this summer, and should be back
in SoCal next fall. I can't believe how cool it was to see a band member
mixing with the crowd 10 minutes after the show is over. If these guys
were any more genuine and down-to-earth, I'd almost reccommend that they
host "Daily Affirmation" with Stuart Smalley.
